I finally posted some pictures from my trip to Dominical a couple of weeks ago. It was the picture perfect place. I would love to get a job in a place like that. There were 7 of us from my TEFL course that went. Here are me,
Elle and Chelsea at dinner. You can see more pictures from the trip here!!
Anyway, it was a great trip and the beach was amazing. We even went into a bar that had an old school bus inside. Here is a picture of some of us kicking it in the bus! I am looking forward to going somewhere for my birthday (which is this weekend!), plus I have a long break from teaching (I'm off Saturday - Wednesday) and I am looking forward to relaxing in a hammock somewhere on a lazy beach! In the mean time, I have to student teach both tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday. I'm almost done with the course though! Only one more week! Pura Vida!

Hey y'all ... Pura Vida!

Hey everyone ... how's it going? Costa Rica is treating me wonderfully! I am two weeks into the four week course at TEFL and I am getting prepared to look for jobs. Today I went to the market in downtown Quepos and bought some fresh veggies from the Mennonites. Then I went to the beach for a couple of hours and saw all of my classmates there. Now I am just enjoying a dinner of fresh veggies and potatoes before the girls all come by here for a ladies night pre-party! Much love everyone! Pura vida!

My first week in CR

has been great. I love school. The students are all really nice and friendly and the teachers are helpful. It rains almost everyday but the sounds of the jungle are awesome right after the rain. Tonight I'm going out to listen to some music and dance. There is only one club in town that plays electronic music and I already met the owner. Soon there will be a dubstep night at the club if I have anything to say about it!

Oh Yeah .... dont forget to check out the video of the monkeys here!

Good Morning Costa Rica!

Well there is nothing better to welcome one to a foreign country better than a nice cold shower at 8 in the a.m. And that is exactly what i got this morning (luckily it was after i had some
coffee and didnt go out drinking last night). It's not that I was expecting hot water i just wasnt quite ready for the cold water. I visited the local market this morning with some friends. You can't tell but the carrots are freaking huge! Anyway, I spent a great morning and afternoon with a group of girls in Manuel Antonio National Park where I saw sloths and monkeys and the most amazing beaches. One of the girls is taking the TEFL course with me on Monday. I hope to talk to my host family tonight and meet up with them tomorrow. As for now, Im gonna hit the supermercado, the shower and then its out to happy hour with the girls!

OMG you guys Costa Rica ...

You guys Costa Rica ... OMG! All I can say is wow! It is everything I knew it would be and it is freaking amazing! I am in Quepos and it is not what you would call a resort town. It has all the traits of a little town in Central America that is 5 hrs down an almost dirt road from any major city. There are dogs running in the streets, kids playing soccer at the local field, taxis legales and taxis pirates (guys with cars that drive you for cheaper) and even cows on the "highways". But overall the culture is colorful and the people are smiling. No major problems so far ... all is well ... pics and videos to come!
